Personalized Wine Glass

When you drink from a wine glass you are normally in 2 states. Either a relaxed state often reflecting on the days or past events or secondly, in an excited state, focusing on the current event such as a wedding, christening, sporting achievement and so on. In both instances, and as is often the case at the time, is your desire to add weight to your thoughts, immortalize your memory, strengthen your feelings, and quite simply, remember a particular thing of value whether it be a person, event, pet or any other thing, to you, is worth remembering.

Typically, such thoughts are immortalized by pictures and people generally trying to recall their memory around a dinner table conversation, so, what else is there? What else could be used to trigger memories about something you hold dear, something that you would regularly use, something that would help trigger your memory to tell and share a story about something important to you, or even, something to help you reflect during the quite times, whilst you are relaxing, perhaps in front of the fire place on a cold winters night. Its the humble wine glass.

What makes the wine glass so special is it can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, textures, weight, fragility or strength and its these very characteristics, these sensory characteristics, coupled with some degree of personalization, whether it be a symbol, picture, word, initials and so on, that strengthens and reinforces the particular memory or thought you are wanting to hold onto and share to others for years to come. It is not simply just a vessel to drink wine, because through personalizing, it can be so much more.

The thought of personalizing, however doesn’t need to stop at just wine glasses because the sky is the limit and is only restrained by how best you want to express yourself. Remember, this is an expression of YOU and only you can decide how best you may wish to express a thought, feeling, person, event and so on. This expression, can also be shared in the form of gifts to others. Again this is an expression of you in the form of gifts to your loved ones or people you hold close.

Adding to this expression, doesn’t need to be limited to wine glasses either because again, the sky is the limit. You can express yourself by wine stoppers for example, wine gift sets, wine and champagne bottles, even wine labels. The choice is yours and yours alone and will provide you with much joy for years to come.

So, whether you are relaxing to reflect or wanting to take away from a memorable event, a personalized symbol to reinforce, strengthen and trigger your most valued memorable moments, nothing can be better than the humble wine glass. It is more than just a household item, and by the very nature of its sensory characteristics, holds the key to immortalizing the very things you hold dear – your thoughts, memories, and feelings.

Brew Your Own Wine

Here Are Some Basic Steps To Get You Started On How To Brew Your Own Wine

Step 1- PLAN and PREPARE. Plan on where you want your setup to be (Possibly your Kitchen, or a corner in your basement, or garage). Then prepare with what you are going to need, that way you don’t end up missing something in the middle of your project.

Step 2- What are you going to need? Things like corks, bottles, corker, siphon tubing, chemicals, primary and secondary fermentation vessels (milk jugs or a sanitized food grade storage container).

Step 3- Yeast. Over time wine makers have designed different strains and varieties of yeast. They are designed to extract exactly what we want from the fruit juices you are going to use. You can use regular bakers yeast and it works but not as well.

Step 4- Juices. If you are going to buy fruit juices at the store you need to read the label to make sure there are NO PRESERVATIVES! Preservatives are specifically there for kill off the yeast in the product.

Step 5- The Mixture. Your fruit juice must have a high enough sugar content so that the yest can feed off of it. Yeast eating sugar creates fermentation. If the juice doesn’t have a high enough sugar content, heat some water on your stove, dissolve in some sugar, then poor in fruit juice. The mixture should be sweet but not to overpowering. Now if there is to much sugar, add in some water and give it a good stir.

Ad 1 crushed campden tablet per gallon of your mixture. Put a paper towel over the gallon with a rubber band. You want air to get in and out but not little bugs that may be flying around it.

Let the Mixture sit over night. Within 24 hours fermentation will start to occur.

How to Enjoy Wine

The question may seem absurd to some! You just drink it. Well, yes that the basic idea of course. You find a wine you like and then drink it, but let’s delve a little deeper.

First of all, what makes a good wine, a wine you’ll be more likely to enjoy? It’s very simple: it you like it, it’s good. If you love it, it’s great. Wine is about enjoyment. Scrap notions of imagine or popularity or other nonsense. And although prices of the world’s most famous wines like Chateau Latour and Lafite have skyrocketed out of range of all but the rich, the availability of really good enjoyable wine for under 10 or 20 dollars a bottle has also skyrocketed!

If you try a wine and don’t enjoy it at first, don’t give up yet. It may need some time to breathe, to loosen up since the bottle was open. Many bottles may soften and blossom with a little time in your glass. Also a wine may taste totally different when you have it with food, and yes, often much better.

Keep in mind that occasional bottles of wine may be “off” or bad.” If it tastes bad, the bottle may be bad. Wine doesn’t like hot weather so it may have been literally cooked during shipment or storage or it may have been contaminated by the cork.

When I first open a bottle and pour a glass, I usually first look at it in the glass, then smell it, and have a taste. Good wine looks good, smells good, and taste good. Don’t be surprised if the tastes are unexpected or surprising, only pay attention to whether you enjoy the wine or not. Sometimes it may take a glass or two to be sure, especially with the myriad of wine tastes and aromas that are out there, ranging from earth and dirt to fruit to minerals and everything in between.

It’s simple to find wine you enjoy. Feel free to experiment with different wines as well as drinking them with different foods. There are no rules. Just open a bottle and enjoy.
